My First Baby Shower!!
I have been truly blessed to have such wonderful parents and students this year. On June 3 (My 30th birthday...OMG!!!!), my students surprised me with my first baby shower. The room was decorated with pink and blue balloons and table in the back of the classroom was covered with snacks and drinks. Also, there was a delicious Tulio's (the best bakery on the beach) cake topped with pink and blue booties. The parents even brought me lunch from Tropical Smoothie.
Before the gifts were opened, the students were asked to fill out cards. Inside the cards the students had to write down whether they thought the baby was going to be a girl or a boy. Next, they had to write down a name for the baby. Let's just say the names were quite interesting. Several students picked the name Jim because they thought it would be cute if the Whitehurst family consisted of Tim, Kim, and Jim. Uhm.....I think I will have to scratch that idea! But at least they were being creative! :)The students were very excited to see me open the gifts they had purchased for Baby Whitehurst. I was overwhelmed by the generosity of the parents; the gifts they purchased were amazing. Baby Whitehurst received a tremendous amount of goodies: blankets, toys, diapers, wipes, clothes, bottles, books, etc. Now we just have to find a place to put everything...that is going to be the fun part!!!! :)Here are just a few of the pictures taken during the shower.
Adorable baby clothes
Snuggly stuffed animals
An outfit for the lil' Dookie
