The nursery is underway...

After several days of cleaning and sorting, we finally managed to clear out the room that will be the nursery. We got rid of lots of items by having a yard sale! Our "junk" was considered someone else's treasure! After staring at an empty room, we decided we better start looking for furniture. From the looks of things, it was a good idea we did not to wait until the last minute to start our quest. Let me explain...

We have been looking at furniture in stores and online for quite some time. Once we found out we were having a girl, we were able to narrow down our choices and decided to go with white furniture. Just like the bedding, we were not seeing anything we liked immediately. Nothing seemed to "jump" out at us and scream, "Take me home!" One weekend, we decided to go to USA Baby in Virginia Beach. They had several beautiful sets of furniture; Tim and I were really impressed. After an hour or so of browsing and narrowing down our choices, we were able to pick out the perfect set for our little girl. We should expect to receive the furniture in 10-12 weeks!! The store informed us that the furniture is ready to be shipped from the warehouse, but they are not sending out the delivery trucks until they have a full load due to high gas prices. You can't blame them for trying to save money, but it is going to be hard to wait for the furniture to arrive. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the furniture will arrive ahead of schedule.

Thanks to the amazing generosity of our family, we were able to get several pieces of furniture to complete the nursery. She will be able to enjoy the furniture for many years. The crib can convert to a toddler bed and then to a full sized bed....that is too cool! As I am typing this, she is kicking me like crazy....she must be excited about the furniture as well! Either that or she is doing her exercises! Here a some pics of the furniture.
