Sydney's First Trip to the Mountains

It was time to get away from the craziness on the beach and head to the mountains. We packed our bags and headed to the mountains in Virginia. It is such a great getaway....no TV, internet...lots of seclusion! It was the perfect time for a little R&R.

The weather was absolutely perfect! One wonderful memory was sitting on the front porch one morning wrapped up in a blanket listening to the pitter-patter of a passing rain. Other than the light rain one morning, it was beautiful. We wrapped up in blankets in the morning, broke out the shorts in the afternoon, and snuggled at night to get warm.

We took walks, lounged in a hammock, played in the river, and made smores. Sydney even took her first ride on a four-wheeler; she putted around the property on granddaddy's lap. It relaxed her so much that she just about fell asleep!

While at the mountains, time seems to fly by and before you know it, it is time to go home. We can't wait to go back! Sydney should be walking by the next time we go back....then the real adventures will begin!
